20 years of writing and reporting on news events in the United States broke Tonia’s heart for people in need. Her passion for service led her to take a leap of faith from a successful career in television journalism to Pastoral care and other helping ministries. Tonia helped Elevation Church and Pastor Steven Furtick launch and direct the course of that mega church’s now worldwide outreach ministry.

Today, Tonia is launching her own business called “Unscripted Life.” As a personal and professional development coach, she is guiding leaders to become their best selves. She also serves as Special Assistant to the President of Montreat College, a private Christian liberal arts school in the mountains of North Carolina. Tonia’s love of nature and of the written and spoken word continues as she explores new ways of communicating. Her favorites now are poetry and Improv. Tonia is committed to saying YES to life and building a personal and professional life that is equal to her potential while engaging others do the same.

Being spiritually, physically and mentally healthy will change how you experience your own life and how you feel about yourself.

I’ve been coaching clients since fall 2018 and have surpassed the 40 required coaching hours for certification with the International Coach Federation. I’ve been training with the Human Potential Institute and will be certified fall 2019.

I’m also a part of Transforming Community #16 as I felt a longing to develop more sustainable rhythms and a deeper relationship between my soul and my leadership. I’ll have earned a certificate in Spiritual Transformation January 2021.

I’m blessed to have been ordained a Pastor at Elevation Church in 2012. Being under the teaching and leadership of Pastor Steven and Holly Furtick has been the most transforming, inspiring experience of my life.
